Meet the Board

Alexa Robison

Hi! I’m Alexa, and I’m so excited to serve as the PTA President this year! I’m a mom to two girls, Elsie and Nora, and we are always on the go. I grew up on Vashon Island and played soccer through college, and these days I get to share my love of the game by coaching my girls’ soccer teams. In my spare time, I am usually reading or listening to an audiobook. A fun fact about me is that I have over 1000 books at my house. If you ever need a book rec, come find me! I’m passionate about building community and creating a school where our students, teachers, and families feel supported and connected. I’m so excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to make some great memories with the Highland community! 🐝💛

I’m a mom, wife, sports enthusiast, professional sideline cheerleader, and apparently someone who has confused “free time” with “driving children to activities.”

In my free time, I coach my kids in soccer and basketball and support my husband while he coaches high school baseball… oh wait, that’s not free time. When I actually find a few quiet minutes, I love reading—and I’ve been known to recommend books so good that they completely ruin my friends’ lives until they finish them.

I love sports, being outdoors, cheering on my kids in all the things, and traveling whenever possible. Disneyland and Cabo are the only places I consider a true vacation, and I will happily defend that position.

Our family has a lot of years ahead of us at Highland. By the time my youngest finishes, I’ll have spent 16 years at Highland, with 9 more still to go—so I’m fully invested in making those years as fun, memorable, connected, and awesome as possible. I’m excited to be part of the PTA, embrace a little chaos along the way, and help make Highland an amazing place for all of our kids and families.

Co-Vice President

Salutations! This is my third year serving on the Executive Board for the PTA and my first as co-vice president. This year I have a 5th grader (Jayce), 3rd grader (Max), and kindergartener (Evelyn), so I've been here for a while and will continue to be here for a while! It has been my absolute joy to be able to help bring One Book One School to Highland (even if it was just signing the check), as well as provide continued support for our wonderful staff and make fun things happen for our students, because I believe to the depths of my soul that a teacher should never ever ever ever ever ever ever have to pay for classroom supplies out of their own pocket.

When I'm not volunteering at the school or taking my kids to their sports, I moonlight as a small-business bookkeeper and a tech support agent for an app development company. And in those rare occasions where I don't have any responsibilities, I enjoy reading (classics are my favorite), knitting baby blankets while watching horror movies, playing the occasional video game, and getting my nerd on at conventions (ask me about how I almost literally ran into Stan Lee!)

I am so thankful to be a part of something that gives back the way our PTA does, and I'm excited for the 26-27 year and the opportunities we'll have to keep Highland one of the best schools around! Stay weird!

Megan Jones

Treasurer

Hi everyone! I’m Megan Jones, and I am absolutely thrilled to be serving as your PTA Treasurer this year. My daughter, Callan, is heading into the 3rd grade at Highland, and our family is so excited for the school year ahead. By day, I work as an accountant at the Woodland Park Zoo, so if you ever want to chat about gorillas (my absolute favorite animal!), you know who to look for! I am incredibly eager to channel my professional background in nonprofit accounting into my role as Treasurer to support and lift up our wonderful Highland community. Please feel free to say hello if you see me around campus, or reach out anytime to connect.

Rachel Voelkle-Kuhlmann

Secretary

Hi, I'm Rachel! I'm honored to serve as PTA Secretary this year. I moved to Lake Stevens from my hometown of Buffalo, NY back in 2022, and I'm excited to continue building community here at Highland through the PTA. With a Master's in Creative Problem Solving, I get to put my nerdy passion for organization and process-building to work for our PTA. I'm mom to Leia and Clark, and together we love baking, dancing, reading, crafting, and exploring!
